It is situated in north-eastern illinois on the south-western shores of Lake Michigan. Chicagoland, the Chicago metropolitan territory has about 10 million people and is the third-biggest in US. Chicago has a global center point for fund, industry, business, innovation, transportation and media communications. This city has one of the world's biggest and most expanded economies with no single industry utilizing more than 14% of the workforce. The culture of Chicago incorporates the visual arts, novels, theater, particularly improvisational comic drama, film and music, especially blues, jazz, gospel, soul and house music. The best known nickname given to Chicago is the Windy City. The city of Chicago encounters four distinct seasons and it exists in the muggy mainland atmosphere zone. Generally summers are warm to hot and often humid. While winters are cool and cold with couple of sunny days, and the typical January high is just below freezing. Additionally, spring and autumn are gentle seasons with low humidity.
